1What does running shoe cushioning mean?

Cushioning is a system, not one foam adjective.

Running shoe cushioning describes how the midsole and surrounding geometry manage impact and shape the underfoot ride. The amount of material, how easily it compresses, how quickly it rebounds, the platform shape and the shoe’s stiffness all contribute.
